What are some scenarios where you have helped members?

  • An insured client with international health insurance: Ms. Y, from Jamaica, was admitted at UPenn Hospital in Philadelphia, an academic institution. She was diagnosed with breast cancer needing surgery, chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She presented her insurance. Their contracted cost came to $250KUSD. The insurance covered 80% and Ms. Y’s financial responsibility was 20%, which was $50KUSD. Patient became aware of our services and contacted us to help. We were able to get patient access to quality providers in same area for all 3 treatments and cost totaled to $55KUSD. We had the insurance company overnight payment to all 3 centers and patient did not pay anything. We handheld the patient for the next 4 months through all treatments. Both the insurer and patient benefitted.

  • A non-insured patient: Mrs. S from Colombia wanted to have a surgical procedure in Miami. She had done some research and received costs between $20-30KUSD and then she contacted us for help. We were able to provide her to access to a quality surgeon with a cost of $12KUSD. We handheld her for the next 3 months through her recovery. She was able to pay less with a better qualified surgeon and we were there to handhold her the entire time.
